Amanda Leedy, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Isaac Leedy, died of diptheria on Thursday of last week, Nov. 20th., 1879, aged four years, five months and nine days. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Keller at the Dunkard church on Saturday, who spoke from the text "Therefore be ye also ready for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh," Matt. 24-44. The deceased was a child of bright intellect, and her departure has left an aching void in the hearts of the bereaved relatives. Amanda was a loving and beautiful child, and was the pet of the neighborhood, as well as of the family. Her presence made bright the home circle, and it was hard to give her up, but it was the great Father that called, and she has gone, next to spring up in the heavenly country, and play among the flowers on the banks of the eternal river.
