In a book titled 1803 History of Knox County, Ohio It's Past and Present on page 485 it says "Horses were changed three times betwen Mt. Vernon and Columbus, via.: at Blendon Corners, Sunbury and at Joseph Jennings" tavern in Hilliar township. William Houck and Benjamin Jennings were the original stage drivers on this road." On page 229 of this same book it tells the story of the stage coach robbery but only says Hinton and does not list his first name. On page 480 this same book talks about Dr. Hilliar being the original settler arrived there in 1806 followed by Joseph Jennings, George Hinton and other and ther families. Joseph Jennings and Rebecca (Hinton) Jennings are my g-g-g-grandparents. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
