He married Sarah Ramsey (b 14 May 1808, Berks Co, PA; d 14 Sep 1892, Knox Co, OH) on 05 Mar 1833. They relocated to Wayne County, OH, shortly after their marriage, then moved on to Harrison Township, Knox County, OH, about 1837. The date of William's death was 29 Nov 1879. They had 8 children: Thomas (b 25 Feb 1834, Wayne Co); Casper (b Oct 1835, Wayne Co, OH); Rebecca J (b Jul 1837, OH); Lorenzo D (b 17 Jul 1839, Knox Co; d 23 Jun 1916, Knox Co); Marvin (b 19 Apr 1841; d 30 Sep 1842, Knox Co); Pierce (b Aug 1842; d bef 1850, Knox Co); Lewis W (b 11 Oct 1843, Knox Co) and Sarah C (b 10 Aug 1846, Knox Co). William, Sarah and several other family members are buried at Mount Zion (Lutheran) Cemetery in Harrison Township, Knox County.
