The Piatt castles are 1 and 2 miles east on St Rt. 245. Mac-a Cheek Castle is a limestone stucture completed in 1871. A guided tour of any of the castles rooms acquaints visitors withthe lives of several generations of former occupants. Mac-O-Chee Castle was begun in the 1860's as a modest gothic retreat and was completed in 1881 with a Flemish-inspired limestone facade. This building contains American, European, and Asian furnishings and objects. Both buildings are shown only by 45-minutes, as needed guided tours.
