It seems strangly coincindental that the town names are so similar. Do you know the names of John Shaw's children other than your direct ancestor? There is also some info on the Shaw family in the Knox county history. Not sure of what edition I saw, you may have to look at older versions if the history has been revised lately (8yrs). Maybe no connection but I'd like to research further. Do you have any other info on them?
