To everyone who sent me suggestions, I am back from my brief trip to the Mt. Vernon area and wanted to say thanks for the information. I managed to make it to the courthouse, the records office and the libarary. Stayed in each briefly, just getting a feel for it, and the went to Bladensburg cemetery as well as driving through Bladensburg and Martinsburg where my Dad's Dad lived for some time. I found the stones of many of my relatives in Bladensburg cemetery, nothing really new to report, but I enjoyed getting to know the area. I think my family only lived there briefly and I will have to look out of state to trace them much further. I then went to downtown Mt. vernon and just enjoyed the city.
