Many of you have the family of Samuel Lilley and Sarah Workman in your dBs. I want to ask about child number 7: Mayinet. A friend looked up the Lilley family in 1880 in Knox Co. There she found, Mayinet or Mayemet. But she is listed as a he, a son. I have been looking for quite awhile for a M.E. Lilley born 1868 who married first, Sarah Wolfe and second Daisy Majors. Sarah is buried at Brinkhaven, M.E. and Daisy are buried in Workman cemetery. In the 1900 soundex, He is Mack E. Lilley and living with his wife Daisy, daughter Lula and son Charles E. Lilley. My friend says it appears on the 1880 census that the census taker had a diffcult time spelling M.E.'s name. I have had other more indirect indications that his first name was actually Maude!!! Could anyone shed some light on this? I have suspected that this Mayinet/Mayemet was actually a male. What is more important is that the birthdates match. Steve von Hitritz in Richmond, VA
