They moved back to Jamestown, New York and then on to Smith County, Kansas later. My ggg-granfather, John Armstrong, married Melinda Hinton in Knox County. Their son, Thomas married Sarah Saum in Knox County and they moved to Van Wert County, where they are buried in Kings Cemetary. I found Melinda's grave on a trip to Knox County but have been able to locate any information about John.An old history says that the Hinton family owned the first stage line between Mt. Vernon and Columbus. I read a book at the Knox County library which says the stageline was robbed by a guy named Hinton who fled to Cuba.
