More than likely they all knew each other most of their lives and lived within 5 miles of each other along Chestnut Ridge which rose above Flat Run Rd. to the west and paralleled U.S. 36 on the east side. Now Ohio 715. More interesting is how close these neighbors were but totally unconcerned of their ancestry or at least it was never really discussed openly, They were mostly busy with day to day life issues like crops, livestock, neighbors, weather, work, government interferance with the farmer. There was a lot of talk about that in the forties and fifties. Thank you Carole and Karen for allowing me to share some long gone faded memories of a great place to be a part of and isolated far into the hills that the purity of life still rings throughout the deep shady hollows and medows to this very day.
