Do you have an index for the entire state or just certain Counties? At the National Archives in Boston, they have a CD index for Ohio but it is limited in content. My family would be in Knox, Huron, Ashtabula, and Cuyahoga County. I have tried several methods to work without a Soundex or an index but I would have better luck trying to find that proverbial needle in those haystacks which sit so neatly on a Knox County farm.
