Hamtramck street of a heart attack. While he had not been in the best of health recently, his condition was not considered serious, and he was at work Wednesday at the Cooper-Bessemer Corp. plant where he has been employed. Mr. Stephens was born in Fredericktown Jan. 26, 1885, but spent most of his life in Mt. Vernon. He was the son of Abram and Mary Stephens, his father for years having a carriage shop in Mt. Vernon. He attended Mt. Vernon high school and Zanerian art college in Columbus. During former Governor Cooper's administration, he was employed in the state industrial department. He was in the electrical business here for years and also had served as agent for the Delco company. He is survived by his wife, the former Josephine Cavin. The body is at the Miller & O'Bryan funeral home. Mr. Stephens was a member of the Gay St. M. E. church and of Mt. Vernon lodge of Elks. Elks will hold services at the Miller & O'Bryan parlors tonight at 8 o'clock. Funeral services will be held at Miller & O'Bryan's tomorrow at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Hugh Wayt, and burial will be in Mound View cemetery.
