But I've been stumped by my Grandfather and his roots. I know he came from Danville OH. His name was Walter Francis Davis. And supposedly he had a brother named Frank. Not sure where to go from here, but he was "farmed out" to a woman who our family called "Grandma Durbin. Her name was Ellen Durbin. I was named after her. I think this was her married name. He was born Dec 7th 1883. he died March 1978 in Zanesville, OH. I looked in the Ohio history death and found 1 Ellen Durbin who died 8/28/1922, which could be about right, but it says Williams county. I don't know where this is. Anyways, when she died (and it would be around that time) she left my mother & her 2 sisters & 2 brothers $500.00 each from her estate. (which was alot of money back then.) She left, supposedly, nothing to Walter, only his children. And the rest of her estate went to a "boys home" in this area. Any help or ideas would be very much appreciated.
