Downes who married Mary (Polly) Vian in Knox Co, OH. Daughter Dorcas Sophia Downs married 23 July 1857 at West Point, Lee Co, IA to Abraham Wallace Mefford. Theophilus Downes is buried here. There are several Mefford researchers including Sheryl McClure working on this line. I am also a Mefford researcher and live in Lee Co, Iowa. Pat Morrison
