I am hoping someone can do a lookup of Colonel Joseph W. Vance's ( 96th Ohio Reg, Civil War), death certificate, obituary or some other document that would show his parent's names. He was at one time the mayor of Mount Vernon also and had a law practice with a Mr. Smith. He died on April 8, 1864 in the Red River Campaign but his body was brought back and is buried in Mound View cemetery.
