I have a few questions I was wondering if someone could help me with: I was recently in Mt. Vernon and had a limited amount of time. I need to obtain a few more things and will pay for copies if someone had time to help or perhaps you can just send me in the right direction. 1. I found a marriage record for my g-grandparents in 1882. It was listed in the Knox Co. marriage book. Where and how do I obtain a copy of this marriage record? 2. While at the library, they have a book of maps for each township. It was in very poor condition so I didn't want to touch it more than necessary. It lists the names of landowners etc and I would like to get a copy of this book. Can someone tell me how I can do this? If there is not a book available, I would appreciate copies of a few townships. 3. Where would I research land records? 4. Where can I find church records, such baptisms, marriages etc. The library in town did not have any of these books. Thanks so much for any help you can offer Have a good day Patti

Certified must come from Probate Court at the Probate Court....uncertiified, I can help you with. > 2. While at the library, they have a book of maps for each township. Where would I research land records? Recorder's office. Court House (actually across the street from the big court house..2nd or 3rd floor, can't remember. > > 4. I have one here and I believe one church's records are available through your local Family History Centers on microfilm, but most you will need to contact the church/pastor/secretary.. direct. > > Thanks so much for any help you can offer > Have a good day > Patti > Good hunting!
