My grandfather's name was Jon L. Davis and he was born around 1878/79. I don't know where or who his parents were. He married my grandmother, Sabina Jane Kirkpatrick Thompson, sometime around 1915-17 and they had my mother, Dorothy, who was born 12/27/1917 in Knox County, Ohio. I found out that on the 1920 census for Ohio, my grandmother was listed as head of the houshold and there was an 8 month old boy listed as her grandson. The mother of the baby was my aunt(age 15) and I later found out that my grandfather was the father. The child would have been born around Nov of 1919. The story goes that my grandmother left Jon and never divorced him but she told my mother that he had been killed by a train before she was born. I have looked for Jon for the last 6 years and can find no trace of him. Gram's obit said that she and her fmaily of 7 kids moved to Richland Co. in 1917 but I am ! more inclined to think it was 1918/1920. On mom's BC it says that Jon was born in Ireland, but since I can't find him, I can't prove that.
