Have you tried the spelling BAER? Lots of them in Pa....may be part of the Lutherans that came from PA to Knox County around 1820 or so. Hi Caroline: Yes I have tried many variations of Bear: Bair, Baer, Bahr, Bare. No luck so far, but I think you are correct that they came from PA as most immigrants did into Ohio in the early 19th century.
