John Alberts has been unable to work for four or five weeks on account of his annual attack of hay fever. ... About sixty hands attended a raising at Chas. Green's on Thursday, the 18th. The structure is a bank barn 36 X 44 feet. It was framed under the supervision of Wm. Shafer, and is creditable to him as a workman. ... Mr. & Mrs. Charles Moore of Shepherdsville, Mich., arrived at his Fathers, S.J. Moore's, in this place, last Friday. Mr. Moore returned on Monday. His wife and children remained and she will keep house for her father-in-law until about the holidays, when her husband will come to make a permanent stay. ... While Maggie Isenberg and Allie Leedy were sporting at the raising of Mr. Green's, by some mishap Maggie struck the blade of an open knife which Miss Leedy was holding, running the blade through her hand, and cutting quite a painful wound. ... Geo. J. Ewers will teach the Caywood school the coming winter. ... Lorain Isenberg started to Cleveland last Tuesday to attend a term of lectures at (illegible) Homeopathic Medical College. Mr. Isenberg has been reading in Dr. E.M. Hall's office at Fredericktown, and we hope to see him succeed in the Medical profession.
