He was one of the first two men to serve as Justice of the Peace in Howard Township, serving two terms (1822-1826). [See Norton's History of Knox County, 1862] He was born about 1767 and died in Knox County on 06 Sep 1836 at age 69. He is buried at Millwood Cemetery, Union Township, Knox County. I know of one other child, a son, Elias (also mentioned in my first post). Martin's wife is unknown to me; she is not buried beside him.
