    2. Does anyone have any information on an Adam Uxrus? In the obit of Abel Morningstar son of James Polk Morningstar, son of Benjamin Morningstar (b. 1814). it reads: Abe Morningstar has a bedspread or coverlet that is 113 years old (Abe died in 1949). Made in Knox Co. Ohio by Adam Uxrus in 1823. These facts being woven into the outer edge of the cloth. 3. Hello, I saw mention here of Martinsburg the other day. I am looking for information on the family of George McClellan and Flora (Harris) CUMMINS who lived in Martinsburg, OH, Knox Co. in the early 1900's. They had four sons: Otho Beabout, Otis Loren, Clarence Campbell and Lewis Paul, my grandfather whom I never met. My Dad was Dale Lewis Cummins. George McClellan also had a brother known as Lon (don't know the full name, perhaps Alonzo?) and a sister known as Libby. Don't know if there were any other siblings. George was a school teacher as were several of his sons. Any one with any information about this or just about Martinsburg at the time, I would appreciate hearing from. Oh Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Knox?read=278 Surname: KERR, ARBUCKLE, BARBER, HILL ------------------------- There may be a Kerr/Davis connection. However, I do not have all the information about the extended family who came to Knox Co. in c.1810-1812. My g-g-g-grandfather,James Kerr almost certainly had siblings. For instance, a Joe Kerr is often mentioned as someone who accompanied Robert Kerr on stock buying trips. He is also mentioned with Arbuckle cousins. Also, James Kerr had a son ,Alexander, who remained in Knox co. with his father,James. I believe Alexander had 11 children- I only know the name of his youngest son,Akexander. Alexander (Jr.) went to Allen Co.,Oh and made his home. Perhaps research will reveal the names of his other children,(I haven't gotten there yet)Most important of all;I believe James had a brother,John; who came with him or joined him later in Ohio. James Kerr married Betsy Arbuckle abt. 1805, so 1801 wouldn't be a strech for a brother.

    3. Posted on: Knox Co. Oh Queries Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Knox?read=277 Surname: Davis ------------------------- Patricia - in your Martinsburg Ohio information do you have any connections with the Davis family who lived there (Aaron, Moses Martin or Winfield)? Can you give me any tips for finding information and history on this area of Ohio? I've seen copies of the "History of Knox County" and found bits of info there but was wondering if there are any books specifically on Martinsburg Ohio? John Roy (a great uncle of mine - married Elmira Davis, daughter of Aaron) was probably the first school teacher of the village school in Martinsburg - he came after your Sam Hill and later moved on to Illinois. Miss Anna Davis (a great aunt of mine and daughter of Moses M. Davis) taught school under superintendent Ikes. My grandfather Aaron was a trustee of the Martinsburg Academy (I can find no infomation on this academy as it is long gone!). I have one possible connection with your family - a John Kerr who married Sarah Scott b.1801 who was my grandmother's Rachel Scott Davis' sister). Thanks for any info you have. There is also some info on the Shaw family in the Knox county history. Not sure of what edition I saw, you may have to look at older versions if the history has been revised lately (8yrs). Maybe no connection but I'd like to research further. Do you have any other info on them?
