    3. From Knox Co, Ohio marriage records 1808-1875: John Lepley m. Polly Kemmerer/Kimmerer 20 Mar 1823 by Jacob Lepley JP (Polly is a nickname for Mary) There are several Kemmerer's listed in the Cem Book vol.1. There is even a Kemmerer Cem in Butler Twp but with very few graves. You should have more luck now with the correct maiden name for Mary. Be sure to check census records etc. now that you know what name to look for. I do not have her parents. This information is from Knox County Vital Records as listed on Ancestry.com, so it may or may not be accurate. Robert Barnes has written many Baltimore, and Md resource books. His "Baltimore Co Families 1659-1759" has quite a bit on my own colony of kinsmen, and Westminster,Md neighbors, who became frontiersmen after [?] French and Indian War backwoods training. Barnes wrote a booklet on his wife's and my Edward Stvenson, whose dau Mary m George Brown[e] about 1710 -20 in the Towson,Md area. Among the Brown's huge family were daughters m to John Sappington;John Baxter; Richard Wells; --- and an elder son,Capt Richard Brown m Honor Wells Holmes after she had already had 8 Holmes kids. [Who was Holmes Co,Oh named for. Edward Brown m 1st a Durbin with a Logsdon mother; Nephew,my Lt-Capt-Rev-JP George Brown m Eliz McQueen, whose uncle was Edward Logsdon. George's sister m Edward Logsdon,Jr. Anyway, this colony was several places on the frontiers in 1776-Upper Potomac near Cumberland, Md; Stoystown,Pa; but Weirton,WV and nw Washington Co,Pa had the major portion, 1773-87. Many of the colony were making 'corn right" improvements in very eastern Ohio [Va til 1784],as they had been rewarded for dong in the WV panhandle,1780. And the US Congress, unlike the Pa and Va colony, used armed muscle -Gen Harmar's army- in 1787,to burn them ot in the 7 Ranges, and send many to Ky. In particular, many settled just west of Boonesboro,Ky 1787-1798, then moved north into s Ohio. [and a few to mid-Ohio. 1 thing the colony did was have many 1st cousin mrriages. Some were the earliest Methodists; some Catholic, and a few remained the Md colony's official Episcopalin.
