    1. Looking for cousin from Mount Vernon
    2. Mary E Carroll
    3. Hello, all -- My family is trying to locate a long-lost cousin originally from the Mount Vernon area; can anyone offer any help or leads?? This cousin's maiden name is Janet Louise Ransom; she was born in March 1938 in or near Mount Vernon, and lived there at least until graduating from high school. She married first to Roger Cunningham (date of marriage unknown), then second to Darrell Birk (date of marriage unknown). Both marriages ended in divorce. We believe she lived in the Chicago area during these marriages, and possibly in Florida after the divorce from Darrell Birk; she had at least one child, a daughter by the name of Lisa Birk. We don't know if Janet is still using the Birk name, or if she may have remarried a 3rd time. Janet's parents were Robert G. & Gertrude Ransom; they both died in Mount Vernon in 1984 (Robert on Oct. 4th, Gertrude on May 8th). Janet returned to Mount Vernon for these funeral services. She had a brother, Robert "Pete" Ransom, who reportedly still lives in the Mount Vernon area but has not had contact with her for several years. Does anyone know Janet's whereabouts?? Alternately, if anyone can provide any of the following (or mailing addresses for same), it will head us in the right direction: Can someone do a look-up of Robert & Gertrude Ransom's obituaries ((perhaps Janet is listed as a survivor along with where she resided at the time?)), or are there any alumni directories from the local high school that might list her then-current name & address? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions that can be provided; any information is much appreciated. Regards, Mary Carroll, Springfield VA maryecarroll@prodigy.net on behalf of Janet's cousin Phyllis (Mechling) Ingram and aunts Mary (Scott) Mechling and Edith (Scott) Collins

    3. Hello John: Since we exchanged emails back in July, I have found parents and grandparents of my Sarah Ellen Wolfe, b. 1872 in Knox Co and we may have a connection. Sarah Ellen Wolfe, b. 1872 parents: Adam Wolf, b. 1841 and Frances J. Butler, parents: William Wolf, b. August 21, 1803, ??? and Sarah J. Bear all of the above individuals buried in Brinkhaven Ceme, Knox Co., Ohio. I see below that you have a William son of Christopher and Phoebe. Hmmm, I wonder if Christopher is father to my William. William would have been 13 when family migrated to Knox Co. Where did they migrate from? Steve in Richmond. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Albrecht" <jalbrecht@revealed.net> To: <OHKNOX-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, July 10, 2000 3:34 PM Subject: Re: Knox County Birth Records > I am interested in the Wolfe surname.
