Hi List, Please Help. Does anyone have information on Richard Thomas, age 26 in the 1880 Knox Co, Morgan Twp, census? marriage? earlier census? later census? In 1870 he would be 16. His sister Ellen/Eleanor was 28. In 1860 he was 6 and his sister was 18. I don't know their parents' names and that's part of the problem. Their grandmother was Nellie Rhyn/Rine/Rhyne/Rine who was living with Ellen in 1880. I would appreciate any help here. I live in TN and have a 2 yr old and a 6 yr old, so going to a library is not an option. I've already scanned ancestry.com [since it's free right now], but have not been able to get far on the thousands of names listed under Richard Thomas. Am researching Shanabrook and Strong families who lived in the Fredericktown, Waterford, Mt. Vernon, Ankeytown (Hartman and Strong) and the locations of cemeteries where they are buried. Have been doing this research for approx. 10 years and very little luck. An Aunt (Gladys Peterman) recently died and is buried in the Quaker Cemetery north of Fredericktown. Am wondering if any of the above persons could be interred there also. Also, there is a cemetery on the outskirts of Fredericktown where my grandmother, Lula Shanabrook, is buried along with several of her relatives and ancetors. I would like to find out the name of that cemetery and possibly the names of ancestors buried there. If there is anyone familiar with any of these families and or their histories, stories about them or any other pertinent information, I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you in advance. Hello Joan Am working on Dowds also. Delta A Black m. Sheridan Grant Dowds, 1888 Knox Co. O. His father was Elijah W. Dowds, b. VA - d. Knox Co. O. His 1st wife was Nancy Wilson and they had 11 children that I know of; all Knox Co. There were a lot of Dowds up around Amity, Knox Co. Lela, You are the first person with the CLY name I have seen on the web. My gggrandmother was Caroline CLY, b. 17 Sep 1861 to George Cly and Catherine Minger. Caroline m. Michael Andrew Warner on 20 Nov 1886 in Coshocton Co. and d. 1 Apr 1940 at her home near Tiverton on a hill above Cavello. George and Catherine were both born in Germany. George d. 19 Feb 1891. George and Catherine had three other children that I know of, Anna M. (b. 1853) m. Michael Fesler; Elizabeth m. Mr. Longabaugh and John. This is all I have on the family. We have to have a connection as there are very few CLYs around in the area. I went to grade school with some at Danville and mom said they were related, but wasn't sure how.
