Wilda, My Sargent family was also in Knox Co., OH. They lived in Frederick Co., MD prior to that. I believe Mary Ann was very likely a part of my family. Do you have any further info on her parentage or any siblings? Nathaniel Kinney and Barbara Sargent Kinney moved to Knox Co. from Frederick Co. sometime prior to 1820. I believe 7 of their 9 children were born in MD. Several members of Barbara Sargent's family moved to Knox Co., OH at the same time as Nathaniel and Barbara. A couple of her brothers and several of her sisters. Maybe we can tie some of these to your Mary Ann. Would love to hear from you. Posted on: Knox Co. Oh Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Knox/605 Surname: JACKSON, STULTZ, BEEMAN, STOUT, ROCKWELL, HAWKINS ------------------------- Hi Connie, Gwen and others! My husband also descends from Ephraim JACKSON and Nancy COOK, through their daughter, Elizabeth JACKSON, who married John H. STULTZ. Elizabeth died young and her four young children went to live with Grandma and Grandpa JACKSON in Knox County, Ohio. I started piecing this family together from old letters that my mother-in-law had in her possession at the time of her death. Elizabeth JACKSON's daughter, Ella Nancy married Calvin Stoner ROCKWELL and they also went to Montgomery Co., Iowa, from Knox County. Elizabeth's son, Ephraim Alonso STULTZ married Sarah Elizabeth BEEMAN in 1877 in Knox Co. and later settled in Dodge Co., Nebraska. I have several letters written from Ella ROCKWELL to her brother Ephraim STULTZ which mentions other family members. I would love to share information with other descendants of the JACKSONS. I can't help you on the Beam but Richland was a county that was formed out of Knox (along with Morrow). I know Morrow split off in 1838 but not sure when Richland County was formed, so depending on timing may depend on where the records are. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This communication may contain information that is legally privileged, confidential or exempt from disclosure. Becky, was any of your Cox family married to Mariah Smith or Nancy Smith of Knox Co. Oh.? Mary Yakima, Wa. marylkinney@webtv.net
Hi! I checked out the recommended "Historical Collections of Ohio" for a listing of early settlers of Knox Co. One of the names was Beam before 1815. I am searching for the parents of Fredrick Beam b. 1799, PA and settled by 1840's in Richland Co. Ohio. His daughter Elizabeth married James Moury/Mowry in 1850. There are both Beam and Mowry names in Knox Co. and I am looking for a connection to my line. When James was killed in a farm accident, the report was carried in Mt. Vernon paper. This leads me to believe that some of his relatives could have been in that area about 1869. Any help on any of the Beam or Mowry lines would be most appreciated...my brickwall! Nola in Indiana
