Jeannet, North Liberty, Knox Co. had a William Johnston family who had a son Adam, b. 7 june 1799, d. 22 Aug 1851, m. 18 Sep 1823 Sarah Blakely, b. 12 Jul 1803, d 1 Mar 1861. They had 10 children. Is there anyone in Knox Co. researching this family? I believe Jacob HUMPHREY/HUMPHRIES/UMPHREYS was a Rev. War veteran and married to Ann/Anna WARD. There is a Jacob Humphrey #1833, Knox Co., CPMB F:259,379 in "Ohio Wills & Estates to 1850: an Index". Thanks! Pat J.
Johnston families in Knox Co., OH. Interested in desc. of David , also William. Have seen Logan Co history concerning William Johnston/Mary MCCanless in Knox Co., being from Ireland & has son Robert who ended up in Logan Co. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jeannet
Based upon the death certificate of Frances J. Butler, I was able to determine her birth as Feb 14, 1851, Jefferson Twp., Knox Co., Ohio. Parents were Levi Butler and Eleanor (Ellen) Jones. They married February 28, 1833, Holmes Co., Ohio But Pedigree file also shows Levi Butler m. Julia Ann Grouce in 1839. IGI states that Levi Butler was born December 16, 1814 to John Butler and Mary Lindsey. But IGI also states that John Butler and Mary Lindsey were married in 1818 or 1821. Can anyone help me out with this family? Steve

But if i ever find him on a passenger list i will post it to this board.

Sorry, I can't answer your questions, but, am wondering if "Workman Robinson" is the Workman Cemetery in Danville, or is this another cemetery. I descend from Martha Jane Workman, who's father was Isaac, a Rev. War Vet. I have always been unable to find his grave, even though the book says it was one of the first graves in the cemetery, and of a large prominent stone. Good luck with your quest! The Knox County Infirmary was known as the Poor House. I've been told that not only the poor lived there, but others who were recuperating from an illness. I'm not sure that's true. Perhaps the Knox County Historical Society on Harcourt Rd would have info abt the place.
