Does anyone have a listing of Knox Co. churches that would have been around 1816 - 1830 or anywhere around that time frame? Do any of them still exist and/or are there records stored somewhere? Any help or guidance is appreciated. Michael wade522@juno.com

Sue, Thank you for the generous offer. My brother and I are researching our Wade line and would be interested in any land or tax records for any WADE that resided in Knox County between 1775 and 1825. Specifically we're looking for information on an Augustine Wade or Henry Wade. We believe the later might have been born there about 1787. Augustine Wade was Henry's father. Hi Pat, I am decended from Susanna Margers and Samuel Sapp, they were my gggrandparents. Susanna and William were brother and sister, and Druscilla and Samuel were brother and sister. The information I have on Samuel and Susanna, is they died in Brinkhaven ,Ohio. Susanna is buried in the St. Luke's Cemetary, in Brinkhaven, Ohio. Samuel died in Brinkhaven but not sure if he is buried in the same place. I don,t know about William and Druscilla, but it might be a place to start. To Lucy in Billings, There is a Samuel Brent buried on the Lorin Swind Farm. The book puts this is in Berlin Twp. Knox Co. However the location given states 1/2 mile north of Howard Twp. this would put it in Brown Twp. Samuel Brent is the only one listed buried there. He died 31 Aug 1835, Age 16 yrs. There are 13 Cem. in Pike twp. There are Magers in some of them. In Amity Cem,. there are 13 Magers listed. Hope this helps, Bob >Does anyone have availability to the Knox Co. cemetery books? I am part of the very large and very extended Mickley/Dunn group that seems to be everywhere is Knox County. In the book that details those lines I found Sarah Jane Mickley who married Walter Scott Wolf in Danville on March 4, 1900. Walter was the son of Adam Wolf and Frances Butler. According to the book " The Mickleys, The Dunns and Related Families"by Alice M Grueber, "the 1900 census shows Sarah and Walter in the same household as Adam and Frances Wolf and their two other sons Grant and Wayne. My relative, Alice M Grueber, seems to have known these people because she goes on to say, "Walter was a farmer. I do remember very well our many visits to his farm up on the hill, about two and a half miles from Brinkhaven. Uncle Walter had a white square house, (Alice Grueber was a neice of Sarah Jane Mickley) I think four large rooms-kitchen, living room with an old pump organ, and two bedrooms on the second floor. Walter and Sarah lived for a very short time in Akron, but spent most of their married life in Knox County. Uncle Walter was a big man, with bushy, bristling brows. He worked very hard, but I remember that at noon after his dinner he would sit down to rest awhile in his rocking chair." This book includes a picture of Walter and another of Sarah. Cheryl Quinn

Hi Rosanne, Oh that would be a GREAT help!!! Elizabeth Nixon was reported to be 3rd wife of BENJAMIN PARKER --my ggg-grandfather. Some family thinks she and about 6-7children migrated to Knox Co. before 1860. I am thinking perhaps Benjamin Sr. was deceased by that year. I would love to see the Obit. information. Thank you so much for your sharing... Hey in Ohio, Has anyone ever heard or read about a SEELY SIMPKINS in the history of KNOX ? He is related to my gr.gr.gr grandmother in some regard. Here is a poem I came across in my wanderings. My gr.gr.grandfather George Wolford was a farmer, and I feel this poem is well suited for the bone breaking work so many went through. Debbra ALL HONOR BE,THEN,TO THESE GRAY OLD MEN, WHEN AT LAST THEY ARE BOWED WITH TOIL, THEIR WARFARE THEN O'ER,THEY BATTLE NO MORE, FOR THEY'VE CONQUERED THE STUBBORN SOIL. AND THE CHAPLET EACH WEARS IS THE SILVER HAIRS, AND NE'ER SHALL THE VICTORS BROW WITH A LAUREL CROWN TO THE GRAVE GO DOWN LIKE THE SONS OF THE GOOD OLD PLOW ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
