Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GWB.2ACE/1284 Message Board Post: More photos of family and friends of the Peter Shaffer family of Knox Co and Licking Co Ohio. This time 2 pages from an old photo album containg CDVs and tin types. People ID'd are Wave Shaffer Goldie Shaffer Papa Mamma Uncle Joe West Hattie Hayes Aunt Mary Blaker Aunt Ruth Wheeler Mr Whetsell Mrs Whetsell Callie Henderson There are 2 photos of Wave and one is the same as the one I found earlier ID's as Lulu Cora Wave Shaffer. I believe Wave and Goldie Shaffer are the children os Samuel Shaffer (son of Peter Shaffer and Ellen Thatcher) and his first wife Sadie Woodruff. Sadie was the daughter of Morgen Woodruff and Elizabeth West. Elizabeth was the sister of the Uncle Joe West mentioned above. I think Cora Wave Shaffer married Charles French and Goldie Shaffer married Rex Bell. Perhaps Mr and Mrs Whetsell are Samuel and Elizabeth Wetsel of Licking Co Ohio. Joe West and his sister Elizabeth West were the children of Amos and Sarah West Hattie Hayes may have been the daughter of Sylvester Hayes. Joecan

She resided in in Pittsford, Vt. in 1812 and later moved to Muskingum, Knox and Morrow Counties in Ohio. My ancestor Mary Rowley who married John Mott moved to Knox County, Ohio in 1812. I believe the Rowley's in Knox County, Ohio were from this family, as a number of Rowley's moved to Knox County, Ohio at the same time as my ancestors John Mott, Sr. and Mary Rowley (daughter of Jonathan Rowley and Elizabeth Hopkins (first wife), as well as some of the children by his second wife Esther (your ancestor) -I haven't been able to exactly connect all the Rowley's either. My line comes down from George Baughman b. 1804 who's brother was Christian Baughman b. Abt. 1801 and their father and mother as Francis and Isabelle. I would like to try and fill in some of the blanks in my tree if anyone out there would like to trade information. Russ Drake San Leandro, CA
