Hi listers, I have not posted in over a year so I thought I would try again. I am researching the Sylvester Pond family that lived in Knox Co. from about 1840 until 1860. He is listed in the 1850 census with his wife Ann. According to his probate record he had a son Nelson (who is also listed in the 1850 census for Knox Co.,) and a daughter Lucy Ann Armstrong. I would like to share information on this family. Thanks John __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! And Burdetta could you do the same in the cemetery records? I would greatly appreciate all of your efforts. Thank you, Michele Finneran Willams
My most mysterious ancestor is William Kemp. He drops out of the sky and marries Matilda Parks, August 27, 1837 in Richland Co., Ohio. The 1840 census shows no William Kemp and family in Richland Co. I have an unofficial Kemp genealogy published in the 1970s that states that they had 3 children, Van Buren Kemp, Perry Kemp and Andrew Kemp. No source for this. The next thing we know is that Matilda (Parks) Kemp dies on January 19, 1844, in Morrow Co. Matilda was the daughter of David Parks and Elizabeth La(u)nce. She is buried at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Richland Co. In the 1850, no sign of William, Perry or Van Buren. Andrew Kemp shows up in Coshocton Co., 7 years old. He marries Eliza Mikesell in Coshocton Co., in 1868. They eventually settled in Danville, Knox Co. Andrew is my ggggrandfather in law.

The Knox County Genealogy Society read all the cemeteries in Knox County in 1989-1991 and published them in 2 volumes.
