Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/GWB.2ACE/872.1 Message Board Post: Don't know if they were related but my ancestor, Arthur Irwin, was born 3 Jun 1767 (don't know where but more recent generations have claimed that the Irwins were "Scotch/Irish" and it is probable that he emigrated to the U.S. from Ireland, either as a child or a fairly young man). He was in the 1820 census for Richland Twp, Belmont County, Ohio; Bloom Twp, Morgan County in the 1830 census and Clay Twp, Knox County in 1840. He died 12 Oct 1841 and is buried in the Martinsburg Presbyterian Cemetery in Clay Township, Knox County.

    1. BROWN
    2. I have recently noticed that there has been some research don on an Ebenezer BROWN from Knox County. His wife was Mary COOK and they had a son named Zenas. I am descended from Elisha BROWN and Rhods KNIGHT whose 2nd son was also named Zenas. Their oldest son was named Ebenezer. Surelt sounds as though there may be a relationship here. Someone has mistakenly hooked the marriage of the Knox County Zenas to the wrong wife. Keziah ELLIOTT married Zenas, son of Elisha, in Morrow County where they both lived. I would like to get in contact with anyone working on this Knox County BROWN family. Jeanne T. Lane

Balo is the grandson of the couple I wrote about, Francis and Elizabeth Balo, and Grace must be Charles' wife. I visited the Bloomfield Cemetery Saturday and found the graves of Francis, Elizabeth, and Joseph (their son and Charles' father). What I need now is verification that Francis and Elizabeth died in Mount Vernon. For those death records I think I will have to contact the Knox County courthouse at Mount Vernon. Again I thank you for your work. Barb
