    3. Looking for Jacob ZINK& Regina/Mary ?, emigrants from Germany to Pennsylvania... guessing about 1835. Ninety-three acre land grant in Greenville Twp., Darke co, Ohio on Oct. 16, 1835 to a Jacob Zink from Pennsylvania. Son Frank Joseph ZINK, born about 1817 in Germany was naturalized in Mont Co. in 184O, which would suggest at least an 1835 arrival or before, since he had to be in the states at least 5 years before being naturalized. Frank Joseph, a butcher, married Theresa Nann/Schweitzer in Hamilton Co.(?) between 1840 - 1842. Estate record for a Jacob ZINK in Knox Co, in 1849. A Sixty-four year old Mary ZINK from Germany was living with (son?) Frank Joseph (age 33) and Theresa (27) ZINK in 1850 in Montg. Co., Ohio. Frank Joseph & Theresa's children included Mary Frances (June 1843), Jacob (Jan 1845), Frank Joseph (Mar. 1847), John M (Oct 1849)., Franklin (abt 1853), Charles (abt 1854), Edward, William (Sept 1858), Gustav (abt 1862), and Emma (abt 1866) Any connections? My first topic will be the Marples and the Welsh immigration as it relates to religious freedom. I will be posting on the Lawyers and related families and the Civil War. Also, I think that I wil research some events not related to my own lines like the Boston Tea Party and those involved in it. I also heard that due to the new Bewitched movie that they are erecting a statue dedicated to Elizabeth Montgomery in Salem, MA where the the Salem witch trials were. Having traced my own ancestors back that far such as the Marples, it is hard for me to believe that those people seriously believed that there were witches. Anyhow my interest in history, makes me want to know about the the lives of my ancestors and researching other events might help others place their own lines. That is why I am creating the blog. http://familytreantiques.blogspot.com

The Atlas data has been scanned at 400 dpi and is presented in high quality Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). Table of Contents includes: Counties, Cities, Agriculture, Canals, Climate Map, Climatology, Colleges, County Evolution, Land Grants of Ohio, Geological Map, Geology, History, Schools and Seminaries, Post Offices, Railways, Statistics and Surveys of Ohio. Multiple adjacent county maps are primarily useful for identifying 1868 transportation routes, railroads, canals, streams and rivers, cities, towns and villages, and early Ohio place names. The 25 city maps in the Atlas are much more detailed with many early government and industrial sites including: * schools, churches and cemeteries * streets, roads and railways * rivers, streams and canals * race tracks and fair grounds * post offices and government sites * industrial sites, furnaces and mills * hospitals and asylums and much, much more The Adobe Acrobat Reader for MS Windows is needed to view, zoom, pan and print from the PDF map images contained in this atlas; and is included free on each CD. No other software is necessary. The map data has been created and configured using the latest version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader (6.0) for MS Windows (98, 98SE, XP, NT and 2000). The maps may be viewed in earlier versions of the software as well; however, optimum use of the data can be expected using the Adobe Reader 6.0 that is included on this CD. 3. I have a Morris Sharp, who married Larcena Disney (obit below). They, along with the rest of Larcena's parents and siblings moved to Ottawa Co. KS in the 1870s. While I know of his life and family in KS, I've only wondered about his Knox Co. family - I've never traced them. These Disneys were also Knox Co people. Is Morris Sharp one of yours? Sharp, Morris Delphos Republican (Ottawa Co, KS), October 30, 1914 Morris Sharp was born in Knox County, Ohio, March 5, 1839, and died at his home near Lamar, October 22, 1914, aged 75 years, 7 months and 17 days. In July, 1861, he enlisted in Company C 32 Ohio Volunteer Infantry. After serving four years and seven days he was honorably discharged. On December 25, 1867, he was married to Larcena S. Disney. To them were born two sons, H.E. and F.E., both of whom survive him and were at his bedside when the end peacefully came. He came to Kansas October, 1873, taking a homestead six miles west of Delphos, living on and improving the same for 15 years. March 11, 1901, he, with his family, moved to near Lamar, where he spent the remainder of his days. Mr. Sharp was of a very genial disposition, always looking on the bright side, never complaining, always ready to help anyone in need. His funeral took place from the family home October 24th at 12 p.m., conducted by G.S. Smith. A very large gathering of friends and neighbors assembled to pay a last and loving tribute to his memory. Interment in the Delphos Cemetery by the rites of the G.A.R. He leaves a wife, two sons, a grandson, three sisters and a multitude of friends to mourn his departure.
