Is there a cemetery listing in Knox County for George Dailey (born about 1812) or his wife Rebecca Dailey (born about 1816)? They lived in the Brandon / Miller Twp. area for the 1860 Census. Adam Hider Darling's parents were Abraham (Abram) and Rhoda (Shrimplin) Darling, who were married in Knox County 07 Jul 1810 and had 14 children. Abraham was the son of William Darling, who also died in Knox County but whose burial site (and spouse) is unknown today. The ancestors of the William B of this post were Abram (Abraham) and Harriet (Riley) Darling, who married in Knox County on 10 Jun 1824 and had 9 children. THIS Abram originated in Hardy Co, VA, and was the son of Robert and Mary Catherine (Passence) Darling; Harriet was from PA, the daughter of Nicholas and Hannah (Shrimplin) Riley. Note the same maiden names for Hannah, w/o Nicholas and Rhonda, w/o Abraham. Both Shrimplin. It's VERY easy to confuse these two families, although luckily, they seldom named their children the same. :) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Seems it was a favorite name for awhile. I have a Honora McKenzie (b 1832, Knox Co), d/o Jonathan and Sarah (Mattingly) McKenzie, if that's the one you're asking about? The only "Moses" McKenzie that I have is James Moses McKenzie, who married Hester (Hetta) Sapp in Knox County on 22 May 1830. (He may be the son of an earlier Moses McKenzie. I haven't yet tried to tie the McKenzie's in my Knox County data together.) As a hint for future postings or queries, please give a few dates in your queries; many families tended to name children after ancestors, so there were frequently many children (even of the same generation) with the same given name. (1) George Washington (Totch) Dial, Sr (1772, MD-1848) m (1) Elizabeth Welker (1774, MD -1818, Holmes Co, OH) and (2) "The widow Elizabeth Thomas" (1783, MD - ? Fayette Co, IL). Their son, G W Dial, Jr, married Margaret Logue. (2) Christiana Dial (May 1792, MD - 27 Feb 1844, Knox Co, OH), was Seeley Simpkins's 2nd wife. He married (1) "The widow Elizabeth Ask" in Jan 1815 in Knox Co. They were divorced before Feb 1817, when Elizabeth (3rd) married Elisha Webster. Seeley married Christiana sometime between 1817-1819, but I have not yet found where. They had 7 children, then Seeley 3rd married Levina Dunham on 17 Sep 1846 in Knox Co. Christina is buried beside Seeley at Ebenezer Methodist Cemetery in Monroe Twp, Knox Co. (By the way, "The Widow Ask" is quite a story, but unrelated to what appears to be your line.) (3) Are you sure that Pearl Etta was the daughter of Mary Amanda Newton and Dr Clements? I have Pearl's birth as 1880, and Amanda and Dr Clements didn't marry until 1882 (the 2nd marriage for both of them). She may have been the daughter of Dr Clements and his first wife, Rachel Blakely (m 1866). Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
