OH Jacob 16 b. OH John 14 b. OH I don't find a Charlotte in 1850 - It looks like Peter and Catherine were her parents (1860 census), but relationships were not given so it is possible she was not their daughter. There should be a death certificate for Charlotte Deakins, and her parents' names may be given. Ohio Historical Society has death certificate indexes online. In 1880 census,Charlotte Deakins gives her birth place as New York, parents b. Germany (could be the area that was in France at times). Mrs. Lizzie Klotz started on Wednesday morning of last week to visit her parents in Waterloo, Ind. She will probably be gone until near the holidays. ... On last Thursday about 12 o'clock, local freight No. 13, extra, ran into the caboose of train No. 13 proper, when near George Carriger's, throwing it from the track and also the engine and several cars of No. 13 extra, making a complete wreck of all. One car load of wheat was unloaded by the side of the fence and greatly damaged by four or five barrels of coal oil that were on the front car, being demolished and running into it. A portion of two other cars of wheat were lost but fortunately a number of the cars were empty. The crash was heard two and a half miles around, and the track was not cleared so that trains could pass until about 9 p.m. No lives were lost as nearly all the hands jumped from the trains in time to escape injury. The accident was near a sharp curve, which prevented the engine of the rear train from seeing the other until too late to stop. 2. Berniece McGlasson
    3. I am interested in any information about the Rowley family in Knox County, Ohio. My husband descends from John Mott and Mary Rowley b. 1757 (dau of Jonathan Rowley b. 1729 and Elizabeth Hopkins b. 1738). Mary Rowley had brothers Hopkins b. 1758, Levi b. bet 1758-1767, Jonathan III b. bet 1760-1761, Joseph b. 1766, John b. 1768, Elihu b. 1772; and sisters Rebecca b. bet 1758-1773 and Elizabeth b. 1776. John Mott and Mary Rowley moved to Ohio from Brandon, Vermont in 1812 together with a number of Rowley relatives. I am sure your Levi Rowley must be a part of our family, but am unable to make a connection. Would like to hear from you if any of the names I have mentioned fit into whatever information you have.
