Dave, I was going through a newspaper film from the Ohio Historical Society yesterday (#34691) re: Carroll Free Press, Carrollton, OH (Carroll Co.) for October 15, 1841 - Dec 26-1845 and saw a reference that I wrote down: TOPE, John, Monroe Township, Dec. 1844 Recalled the name from the list (thought didn't remember WHICH list). Now, those were the only notes I made...but I THINK it was mentioning taxes due. Since today's post jogged my memory, I pulled copies of Carroll Co. Tax Records... 1833 Union and Perry Township, Carroll Co.
