Hello Randal, Saw your query regarding the land of Henry's land on Tomlinson Run. One would really need to visit the Hancock Co., and Brooke Co., and perhaps even the Ohio Co., WV/VA courthouses and work the land deeds. Unfortunately, I don't know of an indexed book on the early land deeds of this area - don't believe it exists and am not even sure what microfilm you could rent from AGLL to do research in your home town library. Perhaps someone else can help with Hancock land deeds and what is available in print. I did check my brother, Craig C. Heaton's book, "Building Blocks, Tomlinson Run, The Early Years 1987" which is really about all the mills located on Tomlinson run. (Only item in my house). It provides the land grants made by Lord Fairfax pior to the creation of the Virginia Land Office and give these names for the area: 1789-1791 Pentacost or Penticost, Dorsey Blackburn, John Caruthers, Sam'l J. Ezekeil Cowan, Alexander Cowan, Hugh and William Cowan, John McGehan, Duncan Murphy, Cornelius Nessley, Jacob Suggest you contact the Tri-State Genealogical Society, New Manchester and the Hancock Co., WV Gen Web which may help you with your ancestors who lived along Tomlinson Run. Good Luck, Julia
