    3. Dear Janice G. Donley, Holder of Information on Early Marriages of Jefferson County, Ohio, and List Members, Having read several requests for early marriages of Jefferson County, Ohio, I have decided to weigh in. If you would check on any CRITSER/KRITZER or COOPER marriage records, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your kindness. Henry Critser lived in Brooke County, [West] Virginia in the early 1800's, near New Manchester, which is in Hancock County today. From his will, I have learned that Henry Critser had sons Peter and John. Peter Critser died in Jefferson County, Ohio in 1839. Peter Critser's son Samuel Critser removed to Greenup County, Kentucky and married Rebecca Douglas Barney, 29 Oct 1841. I have not been able to trace John Critser yet. Among Henry Critser's daughters was Charity, who married in Jefferson County, Ohio in 1825. Henry's oldest daughter Nancy married George Wikoff in Brooke County, [West] Virginia, 31 Dec 1818. For these reasons, I am exploring whether more of Henry Critser's daughters married in Jefferson County. Their names were Hannah, Kitty, Leah, Mary, Sarah and Agness. As for Cooper marriages, it is essential in my research that I check the Coopers wherever I find Critsers, because of their possible connections. My third-great grandfather William Cooper married Martha Ann Barney, 6 May 1846, in Greenup County, Kentucky. Martha Ann Barney was a stepdaughter of Samuel Critser. Therefore, I am searching for the pre-1846 residence of William Cooper and his parents. Again, thank you for your help. Randal W. Cooper <rwcooper@kellnet.com> Lorain, Ohio
