Happy99.exe arrives as an email attachment or news message attachment. Double clicking the Happy99.exe program infects your computer. You know that you're infected when you see a window named "Happy New Year 1999 !!" that contains a display of moving fireworks. Don't run the program and you won't get infected. HAPPY99.EXE --- Detection & Removal If you don't already own a virus detection and removal software package, you do need to buy one soon....in the mean time for ONLY HAPPY99.EXE detection & removal, try the following FREE solution... The following program is free and I've tried it several times on infected computers at work, IT DOES WORK. This single file program is small enough to store on a 3.5" diskette for sharing or storing a copy. THE LINK TO OBTAIN THE PROGRAM IS LISTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS MESSAGE. This FREE program allows anyone to remove the Happy99 worm code from their computer. No skill level is required by the user. It also will report on all the Email addresses that you have sent the Virus/Worm code to. It will NOT protect you from future infections of HAPPY99, but you can continue to use it to remove HAPPY99 if you become infected again. Once you download the program, there is really nothing to do as the user but run the program. It will prompt you if the HAPPY99 code is present on your computer (it will also tell you if it's not). So you can run this to check and see if you're infected now, and to check in the future. Happy99 Cleaner 2.0 From: Craig Schmugar Minimum reqs.
