Hi, Sorry about that, my Mom and Aunt Jo came to visit just as I started writing. Anyway, I have page 87 and 88 from a booklet called "Some Chaney Families Southeast Ohio that I got from Jefferson Co Genealogical Society. These Chaney's were from Frederick Co., MD. The pages I have have info on Finley Chaney who was first husband to one of my ever so many great grandmother's. While Finley's parents are listed as Charles and Sarah Dunham Chaney, it states they decended from the pioneer to MD, Richard Chaney. These pages lists the last two children of whoever #8 was, the children of Margaret Jane Chaney and James Wheeler, she's #9. Then Finley looks like an F in front of his name . The next one is number III Mary Ann Chaney (Polly) sister of Charles Chaney of Jefferson Co., dau of Charles Chaney and Lucy of MD. Twins, actually, and states Nathaniel Chaney of Harrison Co, and Jacob Chaney also had twins. He had to be in Ohio by 1800,as that is when my g-g-grandfather William Chaney Junior was born. In the 1830c, William Chancey is listed living beside, Duffet Chadwell in Springfield twp. I'am sure Duffet's wife was Mahala Chaney. I'am not sure who her father was. I believe it was Charles Chaney (listed, Chany/Chancy) also Springfield twp.. The 1850c shows Mahala Chadwell as a widow, age 47 b. in MD. in 1803. I believe it's possible that William and Charles were brother's. Can anyone help me?
