    1. Any Memories/Pictures of 1-room Schools?

    3. I take great joy in having spent 2 years attending the one-room school in Kenwood, OH (between Adena and Cadiz). Our family was living on a farm in that area, so my brothers and I walked the road, railroad, and climbed the hill to the school each school day. Our teacher was Olive Vehre with whom I kept in touch until her death. I regret that I never asked her if she had any photos of the school. Does anyone have any pictures of one-room schools in the Jefferson and Harrison County area? Have any of you attended a one-room school or had families to did? What were the schools like which your ancestors or yourself attended in Jefferson County? I'm one of the few people still living who can brag that I was the best student in both my seventh and eighth grade classes. Unfortunately, I must also admit that I was the worst. And the only student in those grades. <LOL> I have just bid on and got some Adena School Yearbooks for the late 1920's from Ebay.com. Although they are before my schooling there, I'm anxiously awaiting their arrival with the anticipation that it might show some of my relatives/ancestors. Also, the "ads" in them should reignite some memories. Ed Durbin
