Hi, I just joined this list a few weeks ago and noticed you talking about Smith. My GGGpa Ellis C. SMITH married Sarah Jane Davis in Smithfield, Jefferson County, Ohio in 19 February 1849. His unknown parents were born in Maryland as was he according to his Civil War papers Does he sound familiar to any of you SMITH researchers? Suzanne
