    3. Hi - you wrote: Charity CRITSER married John MCCULLOUGH, 27 Dec 1825, in Jefferson County, Ohio. In an earlier document, when Charity CRITSER was single, she was recorded as living in Steubenville, Ohio. I had an e-mail last June from Hugh Hunter of Hawaii on this same couple and I happened to have the info on this marriage which I sent to him at that time. He wrote: I am looking for information on a John McCullough who married Charity Critser in Jefferson County, OH, in 1825. My GG grandfather John McCullough Wycoff (1830-1908) was the son of Jefferson County residents Cornelius Wycoff and Leah Critser. I have been trying for some time to determine the source of his middle name. Recently I learned from a Critser descendant that Leah's sister Charity Critser married John McCullough in Jefferson County in 1825. Leah apparently named her son after her sister's husband. Who was this John McCullough and what is his relationship to other Jefferson County McCulloughs? I do have some early McCullough family information. When I was in Steubenville in Oct 1996, I made a copy of a three page report that I found at the Genealogy Library of the descendants of John McCullough of Donegal Co., Ireland and Jane Underwood, who emigrated in 1792. The report lists three generations and had been submitted by Priscilla Sweeney in July 1996. The report did not list the sources. The marriage of John McCullough to Charity Critser was not listed, nor is there a John McCullough who looks like a candidate. Among my other lines in Jefferson County, Ohio are Frye and Culp. Regards, Harold Culp Hunter Pearl City, Hawaii hunter@pixi.com You might want to contact him - I do have a mass of information on descendants of John and Jane (Underwood) McCullough of Jefferson Co.
