    3. Hi, Our THOMPSON family was in Steubenville in 1800 to 1850, John W. Thompson and son, John Thompson b. ca 1803,immigrated from Ireland. I don't know if they stopped in NY or VA for a few years or came directly to Jefferson co. but on 2 Jun 1827, John Thompson married Marie Ross in Steubenville. Their children were, John b. 1830, Matthew b. 1832, Mary Jane b. 1833, Moore Hamilton b. 1 Aaug 1837, Nancy Jane b. 6 Nov 1841, Margaret b. 1843, Richard H. b. 1845, Caroline b. 1840, Thomas b. 1849 and Robert H. b. 1851. They are in the 1850 census and John made out his will about 1849, but haven't found his date of death, must be after 1850. Really appreiciate any help.
