All this talk of coal mines jiggled my memory and I looked back to find my great-grandfather, Albert HOUSEHOLDER is listed on the 1870 census in Saline Township as a coal miner. Does anyone know what mine he would likely have worked in at that time and place. I believe he lived in Cream City near Irondale, in Jefferson County. Thanks. Janice
