Was this Hammond related to the Thomas Hammond who founded Hammondsville, Jefferson County, Ohio. Reportedly he came to Ohio from Virginia in 1820 at about 20 years old. He purchased 3000 acres of land in Jefferson County in what later became Hammondsville, Ohio. Thomas Hammond died in 1867 in Hammondsville. Is anyone besides me researching Hammondsville? Janice
