Were there any tax lists taken 1830-1840? I know there was a federal census in 1830 & 1840, what abt a state census in-between? My John Courtright was last on the 1830 Smithfield Twp., Jefferson Co., OH census, not on that or any other census for 1840. I've looked under every conceivable spelling for a probate in every nearby county, even had a few of you kind souls do look ups for me which I greatly appreciate.
