John Fowler was a native of Maryland. His father was killed in the Revolutionary War. He married Mary Huff in Maryland. He moved to Virginia in 1800 (now WVa since 20 Jun 1863). He first settled opposite Steubenville, Jefferson co., OH, then moved to Hopedale, Harrison co., OH. Before 1819, he moved to Hanover, Licking co, OH, where he was buried about 1840. He had children: 1. Garrett FOWLER, b. 28 Feb 1799, Maryland. He married 23 Apr 1819, Hannah H. Eagleson who was b. near Waterford, Erie co., PA. They settled in Monroe Twp., Harrison co. OH. They had children. 2. John FOWLER, d. Apr 1847, m. Elizabeth ___. They had children: Andrew, James, John, Mary, Sarah, Nancy, and Hannah. 3. Benjamin FOWLER, b. in Pennsylvania 31 Oct 1802, settled in Monroe Twp., Harrison co, OH. m. Jane Whitaker and they had children. 4. Francis FOWLER, d. 1838. He m. Mary Giles in 1830. Had one child, Francis. 5. Joel m. Ester Fisher, in 1836. 6. Jeremiah 7. Cena More on Garrett FOWLER's children: 1. Mary Ann m. Joel Cramblet, resided Frankilin twp. Harrison co, OH. 2.
