Larry, The first CHAMPER I have in my files was William Champer who was the executor & witness to the will of Daniel KELLY in Union Twp., Harrison Co., OH in 1831. It's possible that either Daniel's wife was a Champer or one of his daughters was married to one. Later in this family is another Champer connection so I feel that there was a long standing connection between these 2 families.
