    3. Have you tried going back to the 1860 census, or even the 1850, to see if you can find Susan as a wife, in a Clendenning household? I'd try that, personally. I've checked various marriage records, and found a couple other spellings, and I'll pass these marriages on to you, in case they fit in somehow: James clendenning m. Amanda Galloway in Jeff co 3--8-1850 James Clindinnin m. Nancy Inks 2-23-1802 Jeff. co here are a few others, with different spellings; Elizabeth Chendennin m. Alexander Call 2-10-1831 Jeff Co.. Reasin Clendennin m. Rachel Myers 12-1-1838 Jeff. Co. 2 other spellings I found were Clindinen and Clindening...all variations, I'm sure, on the same name...so, when you research, you need to watch for ALL spellings, plus the more common ones; Clendenen and Clendenin. Sandra I haven't much information on this family. Elizabeth (or Lizzie) was listed on the 1870 census as born in Ohio. The same for Susan. Susan was the head of household, Lizzie the daughter and living in Florence, Wash. Co. Relatives told me Susan's husband was killed in Civil War. Did they move here after the war or before? My other question is what was her husband's first name? I believe if I could find the husband's first name I could move on but am at a so called brick wall on this. Looking for a lot of help!!!!!!!!!!!!! >
