FREE FAMILY HISTORY FAIR A Family History Fair is being produced by the Cerritos and Long Beach East Stakes of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday, November 22, 2003 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Church Stake located at 4142 Cerritos Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA East of Bloomfield. This daylong program is open to the public at no fee. A box lunch is available for $7.50 and the Class Syllabus can be bought for $5.00. Knowledgeable guest speakers including Barbara Renick, who will talk on the Perils of Pursuing Pedigrees, The workshops are for the beginner and advanced genealogy researcher. Some of the subjects offered are Where do I start?; Writing personal family history; England and Wales Research; Internet for Genealogists, digging up treasures in the graveyard, and use of the computer in Family History Centers. The fast growing study of genealogy, finding your ancestors, is the most popular use of the internet in public libraries across the nation. Cousins are reconnecting with each other and children are learning history first hand because of this exciting hobby.
