I would like some information on the Jesse Daniels family. I found them in the 1850 census in Jefferson Co. His wife's name is Elizabeth Mayhorn. Does anyone know anything about this family. Their daughter Mary E. is my greatgrandmother. I would really like to find information on this couple and the family. Mary E. and her family came to Gallia Co. in the late 1850's. They appear on the Gallia County, Ohio census for the year 1860. In 1865 Mary married Solomon Thomas. They had a son Solomon. This is my grandfather. My father is 82 years old and has cancer. I would really like to finish this up soon. Jesse Daniels would have been my Dad greatgrandfather. Any and all help would be really appreciated. I would suggest you talk with your father about his family. Surely he would know where his father died and when, at least the year. The year would enable you to contact the county where his father died and obtain a death certificate, which would give you valuable family info, such as -where he and even his parents were born, etc. Then, with the full date of death you could also obtain filmed newspapers from the Ohio Historic Center, in Columbus, through interlibrary loan...... searching for an obituary, which also contain family data.
