Mary, I am not the list manager of this list, but do have several of my own, have created the Chester County Pa website, and am the county coordinator for that county....I do send a Welcome Email to everyone who joins my lists, that contains what I think are helpful pointers on how and what to query, useful URLS and even a rootsweb article on how to write an effective query. My aim is just to help folks find the information they seek, and encourage them to add to the general knowledge of our area by answering the queries of others and to post things of interest, both to the list and to the genweb archives. If you'd like I'd be glad to send you one of the Welcome emails - although it is geared to a different county the aims are the same, and applicable to all; to find out what we ourselves seek and help others do the same, while adding to the collective knowledge of our county through the archives.
